How will my cooperation with AI work?

I’m writing my novel in collaboration with AI according to this pattern:
I WRITE – AI REVIEWS MY WRITING AND SUGGESTS IMPROVEMENTS – I MODIFY MY WRITING ACCORDINGLY
However, I don’t want my writing to be some random process. I want a clear set of rules straight from the beginning. For this purpose, I will use the Instructions in ChatGPT’s Project. In short, Projects in ChatGPT let you amass everything in one place, pretty handy 👍🏻

Here’s my Project for the Alien novel ⬇️ Look at the instructions, as this is where the magic happens.

I created a draft of Instructions for Jenny (a.k.a. ChatGPT) about what I expected from her. Look here ⬇️

But before force-feeding Jenny with it, I wanted a consultation with her. For this reason, I opened a new chat to discuss them with her. This is Jenny’s feedback ⬇️

I’m glad she highlighted possible contradictions. It’s a big project I’m going to go through, and starting it with contradictory instructions could hamper my effort. For this reason, I gladly accepted her offer for modification. She remade my Instructions (using Canvas), and here's her version ⬇️

As you can see, Jenny kept my favorite instruction about the Flesch reading-ease test (basically, how easy it is to read a text, more on that in a future blog) but wants to keep it “balanced” with the Alien universe.
I was initially surprised that the language couldn't be “just simple”. After all, even Leonardo da Vinci rooted for simplicity. On the other hand, I have already written about 30 pages. Therefore, I already know the text needs to be more sophisticated sometimes. For example, there are parts explaining various places on the Covenant ship, and simplifications would not cut it. I take it as a sort of "artistic limitation" I need to deal with 😎
Happy that Jenny did the heavy lifting for me, I snapped up her version and introduced it to the Project’s instructions. In the next blog, I will describe how Jenny helps me shape the story.
