Storytelling will go through a revolution thanks to artificial intelligence. AI will change how we create stories, and I want to prove this point in my creative experiment – the Alien novel. Collaborating with Jenny (a.k.a. ChatGPT) helps me shape the plot, identify inconsistencies, and deepen the logic behind my narrative. AI won’t replace human creativity, but it’s an invaluable tool that will help writers refine their stories in ways we couldn’t imagine before.

A strong plot needs to be airtight. Maintaining that level of coherence is challenging when crafting a complex sci-fi horror story set in the Alien universe. Especially because I'm not an experienced novelist. This is where AI becomes a powerful ally.
That's why I created the Alien-Covenant plotline and started to consult it with Jenny. She pointed out gaps in my plot, where character motivations weren't clear, where the timeline didn't align perfectly, or where the tension could be heightened. Jenny acts as a second pair of eyes that analyzes the structure of my narrative. Instead of just proofreading, AI helps me evaluate the logical flow of events, ensuring that every development feels natural and engaging.
In my Covenant novel, I want to seamlessly bridge the events of Alien: Covenant (2017) and Alien (1979). The challenge is to make sure that key elements (the fate of the ship, the origins of the xenomorphs, the transformation of characters, etc.) feel organic. AI-assisted brainstorming helps me reinforce cause-and-effect relationships within the story. Jenny highlights areas where I can add foreshadowing, improve character arcs, and ensure tension escalates at the right moments.
Another advantage is AI's ability to act as a reference guide. The Alien universe has extensive lore, and it is crucial to make sure my novel aligns with established themes and facts. AI helps me cross-check elements, avoiding contradictions while still allowing space for innovation.
At the end of the day, AI is a tool, not a replacement for human imagination. The heart of Covenant—its horror, tension, and emotional weight—comes from me. With Jenny's analytical and structural support, I can refine my vision into something even more compelling. Writers who embrace AI not as a crutch but as a collaborator will find themselves able to craft tighter, richer narratives.
The future of storytelling isn't about humans versus AI. It's about using AI to elevate our creative works to new heights.
